"Chicago" in Des Moines

I enjoyed the show and overall the production was excellent. Strong performances by Ron Orbach as Amos, John O' Hurley as Billy Flynn, and Roz Ryan as Matron "Mama" Morton stood out. Surprisingly, Tracy Shayne was solid as Roxie Hart, but Terra C Macleod seemed mismatched as Velma Kelly. She had the swagger and the moves but not the voice.
I've been looking forward to seeing the production since I saw the movie several years ago. I own the DVD and the soundtrack and am a big fan of both. It was nice to see the production come off the way it did. Either way, the two female leads were weaker than the rest of the cast.
On a side note, I was not surprised in the end about Mary Sunshine's character and I wondered about it!
